About The Artwork

This work is part of the photographic record that I made in the archaeological zone of Calakmul. From the structure or mound II, of the formerly called Oxte´Tun which means three stones and later named Calakmul which means Two Adjacent Mounds in Mayan, you can see the beautiful landscape where once there was one of the most powerful Mayan cities belonging to the kingdom of the serpent; which is now immersed in the nucleus of the biosphere reserve embraced by the mysterious and silent jungle of Peten, a place where even the brave are afraid of finding Camazotz.
