Color and Tone From the Photo Blendo Series. Photo based, manipulated, digital art. Exploring Symmetry, Synthesis and Serendipity. The Photo Blendo Series was born out of frustration and disappointment. I thought I had made some great images of the wonderful and wacky Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, designed by architect Frank Gehry. When I got home and looked them over, what I thought would be something like "Concerto for Creativity," turned out to be more like "Strike Up the Bland." Having nothing to lose, I fell into a creative, exploratory space, fed by the god, Photoshop (praise be unto undo). Blundering along, through trial and error, I worked out the series of steps that is the essence of the Photo Blendo process. This abstract image, “Color and Tone,” was one of the 1st in the series. Beginning with a simple architectural detail (see additional images of this work), I ran the image through my "Blenderizer," then fine-tuned the result to create the final image.
