About The Artwork

Walking with my best friend by Santa Monica pier. There was such a beautiful sunset and colors that I could not resist to pull my camera. I waited for about 30 minutes for a bird to fly right in center of the sun. Mom always said that patience is a virtue.... well it paid off !

Rob C. Echanique is an Ecuadorian-American filmmaker & photographer based in Los Angeles, CA Roots - Connection. A unique beginning for the youngest son of American agriculturists. Like his dad, he wanted to fly. The beauty of seeing the fields is what sparked his interest in motion photography at the tender age of ten. Defiant - Rebel. Not hooked by books or study, there came a first film, documentary style, of his father designing and constructing an air strip on the plantation, where he envisioned his first "posed" photograph. "I wanted to capture how cool my dad was at his job", resulting in a stoic composition of Rob's father in his crop duster. Genuine - Integrity. Inspired by his grandfather time as a Naval Officer, Rob made the decision to serve his country by enlisting in the US Army. He spent his time training soldiers, servicing ground equipment and working in aviation. Where he garnered a reputation as being a problem solver. Passionate - Confident. After studying film making at Brooks Institute in Ventura, CA, Rob is all about capturing the visual. He leans towards art direction and set design, but specifically the simple emotional connection between two subjects. Rob leans towards documentary and dramatic cinema. Recently, he directed and scored the film "Devin" which was submitted to the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in 2017. As well as working as the Director of Photography on an upcoming TV series called "The Dead Sullivan show."
