About The Artwork
I am preparing work for exhibition, using the theme of Superimposed images. Early Pentax digital cameras had a filter called 'Superimpose'. Recently, I found a similar effect in software and concluded that the format would be of interest to the spectator. Skill: The argument is that the eye is equivalent to 50% of the Painterly artist's skill set. The hand, perhaps, occupies the first and important 25%. The question, I thought, is how close can one get to a painterly composition without painting? 100% of photography is equal to 50% of a painting. Also, to what extreme does working in Colour and Chromatics effect the mood of the composition? Disclaimer: Pentax Cameras and Lenses were not used on this project. Clayton Quarry (Horsforth) is currently under development.
