His photos have appeared in numerous publications, both periodicals and books, including Aviation Week and Space Technology and Airways. In addition, he also provided the photography and captions for Air Transport World magazine’s popular “Classic Airliners” calendar.
His work has appeared in numerous rail-oriented publications, including Trains, Railfan and Railroad, Railroads Illustrated, The Railroad Press, Passenger Train Journal, and Model Railroader. He has made photography presentations at the annual Summerail show and local chapters of the National Railway Historical Society. His work has been selected for display in the Center for Railroad Photography and Art’s Railroad Heritage gallery, a web portal for significant images of railroading. George’s photos have been exhibited at the MPLS Photo Center; Darkroom Gallery; The California State Railroad Museum; and the National Museum of Commercial Aviation.
George’s photos have been selected for awards in Aviation Week’s annual photography issue; Trains magazine’s annual photography contest; the Center for Railroad Photography and Art’s annual awards program; and Railfan & Railroad’s Center Spread Contest. In 2008, two of his photos were chosen for Trains magazine’s “100 Greatest Railroad Photos” special issue.
