De Tomaso Pantera in black & white 01 Photograph

The Pantera was the successor of the Mangusta, which also already contributed a legendary sports car design showcased. Yet, somehow the models of De Tomaso had never really, good sales, although the Pantera with its mid-engine was not bad at all. The standard engine from 5 to 5.8 liters was 350 horsepower and some tuners brought it on 600 and even 1,000 horsepower. A tuner company which was Xaver Jehle in Schaan / Liechtenstein. Tom Tjaarda of Ghia designed then this timeless wedge-shape, which lacked any rounding. However, the Pantera was only from 1971 - Built in 1993 and only 7260 were produced. Der Pantera war der Nachfolger des Mangusta, der ebenfalls schon ein legendäres Sportwagen-Design zur Schau trug. Dennoch, irgendwie hatten die Modelle von De Tomaso nie richtig, gute Verkaufszahlen, obwohl auch der Pantera mit seinem Mittelmotor alles andere als schlecht war. Die Standardmotorisierung aus 5-5,8 Liter betrug 350 PS und so manche Tuner brachten es auf 600 und sogar 1.000 PS. Eine Tunerfirma davon war Xaver Jehle in Schaan/Liechtenstein. Tom Tjaarda von Ghia entwarf damals diese zeitlose Keilform, der jedwede Rundung fehlte. Allerdings wurden der Pantera nur von 1971 - 1993 gebaut und nur 7260 wurden produziert.
