About The Artwork

My brothers are twins and they inspired this image. The birds (mourning doves) on a wire were from a photograph that I took on New Year’s Day in Vero Beach, Florida on Cardinal Street.Though my twin brothers are identical, they have different personalities. Therefore, these twins chose different dresses. There is a canvas texture apparent in this image. This is a diptych. The color of the lips and dress are very vibrant and Lovely when printed.

Wisconsin is my ancient home ground. I now move between Wisconsin and Vero Beach, Florida. When I received my BFA degree in photography in 1994, I began a career as a fine art photographer. My hand colored, silver prints were developed in the darkroom. They were minimalistic images of mundane human elements. I had a whole life of galleries and museums and awards. Two of my images appear in American Photography 11, 1995. When the darkroom was obviously becoming obsolete, because I was having more difficulty obtaining the materials necessary for my artwork, I made a big change. Six years ago, I began creating artwork with my smartphone as a camera, an IPad and applications. Essentially this equates to digital photography. One of the terms for how I choose to create my images is termed Mobile Photography. It is a contemporary art movement. My current images have been inspired by the long term affect that the three original Raymond A. Moody books have had on me. They are my wundrian/wondering about the stars, the cosmos, and our universe. For me this is a human question, and not necessarily a religious one. I describe my work as being between the Earth and the Stars. An anonymous reviewer from LensCulture described my work as being surreal, spiritual and magical. I also consider them to be potent minimalism. My Curriculum Vitae only reflects the past six years that I have been involved in Mobile Photography.
