f64 02:41-03:53 12/21 2010 is a photograph that is a 72 minute exposure of the umbra of a total lunar eclipse. Photography is a drawing of light; this image is the opposite of that in that it is a photograph of a shadow. The work is a simultaneous nod and parody of the "f64 group" who were dedicated to the proper exposure and sharp documentary aspects of the medium. I set my 210mm lens to f64 on my 4 x 5 camera and got a "not so sharp" and underexposed image that speaks to diverse possibilities of the medium.
