Contact us.Beatriz Minguez is a Spanish visual artist.
Her passion is the sea - it’s in the family - and spends 2 months every year on a boat since childhood.
Ever since her parents gave her first camera at the age of 11, she has been obsessively photographing seascapes.
Trained as an architect, at her artistic work she researches on the representation of the underlying energy found in natural landscapes, spaces, and people within them. She intends to portray the sea as a living being.
She uses architectural representational language that contrasts and enhances the organic
Actually she focuses on Climate related issues. The series Heat Wave is an experimental project looking for ways to represent the surreal feelings of the heat waves during the last summers..
Beatriz did 12 years of classical ballet, explaining her passion for photographing herself dancing underwater.
In her work she blends it all.
Her video art pieces and multimedia installations have been awarded in international film festivals, and she has recently been commissioned two public artworks. She also participates regularly in Art Fairs, Exhibitions and Festivals.
