About The Artwork

The original works are each 5 by 4 feet, and hang 3 inches apart, as a diptych. They are painted in acrylic and stucco patch on canvas. Family photos are dropped into hand built frames that are pushed into the backs of the stretched canvases. This digital giclee on 1 and 1/4 inch deep, gallery stretched canvas is half the original size. The diptych will have the edges butted and be printed on one solid canvas, with NO white division line, such as seen the document shown here.

I have lived and worked on the Big Island of Hawai'i since 2009. The inspiration provided by that change of location, from the San Francisco Bay Area to Keaʻau, Hawaii, is clearly evident in the work. My Berkeley roots have continued to guide my practice, even as my work now springs from Hawaii.
