Hispania is one of the very last International 15-Metere Classes still sailing. This fore and aft cutter was designed by William Fife II and launched in Spain in 1909, having been commissioned by King Alfonso XIII. She went on to win numerous trophies in her prime. In the 1990s, she was used as a house boat in the South of England. Purchased by the Hispaina Foundation for Vintage Boats, however, she was moved to Fairlie Restorations in Southhampton where work went on on her until 2005. In 2006 Hispania was sent by cargo ship to the Astilleros Shipyard at Palma on the island of Majorca to be rigged and have her interiors fitted. In 2011 she competed at the Monaco Classic Week along with the two other surviving international 15-Metere Classes, Prince Albert of Monaco's Tuiga (1909), The Lady Anne (1912) and Mariska (1908).
