ESSEX PERFORMANCE The Spirit of ACTION and Item by Item the World's Greatest Vlaue From a 1928 issue of The Saturday Evening Post for the Hudson Essex featuring a yellow 5-Passenger Sedan. Hudson Super Six models were produced from 1917-28 and Hudson with Hudson-Essex was then the third largest automaker in the United States. 1927 construction has been thoroughly revised and reached with an unchanged displacement 92 bhp (67.7 kW) at 3,200 / min. The new model with a short wheelbase S even reached a top speed up to 100 mph (161 km / h). 1928 then end with this series (it was the "Greater Hudson") and there were a total of 524,919 copies sold. After the end of the model and the original wheelwright operation Biddle & Smart had nearly 5,000 workers close its doors forever. Because Hudson is the only client was (just a little bit in 1925 for Rolls Royce) and started to build this 1928 own body production in Detroit.
