There's nothing that quite prepares you for the sight that is the Joshua Tree National Park in the burning heat of the Californian Desert. A magical forest made up of these otherworldly giant Yuccas that are each contorted in a their own unique way, as if in midst ballet pose. This particular Joshua Tree was the most amazing one I saw and it stole my heart. As I was leaving the park, driving my car towards the exit, I could see the sun setting behind me was visible in the rearview mirror and the sky darkening all around me. Out of the corner of my eye I caught this mesmerising silhouette and screeched the car to a halt kicking gravel and dust up all around. I knew I couldn't live without capturing this perfect moment, 'my' Joshua Tree silhouetted against the disappearing sun at the end of a wonderful day.
