About The Artwork
This image was taken while traveling through the Italian and Swiss Alps and into France. On the shores of Lake Como, above the cloud cover, sunlight pierces through the stratosphere and dances fanatically on the water, where it illuminates the human body against the vastness of the mountains which cradle the water. All the stunning hues of blue are created naturally by the haze of sunlight breaking through the alpine cloud cover around late afternoon in the summer, when the Italian Alps have their longest days of the year and are angled perfectly against the sun.
