About The Artwork

Number 3 of 50 available Limited Edition framed print. I combined my love of photography with my equal love of Kayaking, and trolled this beautiful Lake in Wicklow, Ireland, to find the right spot to capture this amazing sunset. The first 2 of this piece are on display in a Local famous Golf and Leisure resort who recognized the area from a local exhibition i was doing. I hope you enjoy and find even an ounce of the beauty to be found down every lane way in Ireland. All pieces are signed, dated, numbered, and I supply an individual certificate of authenticity with each one. Also, once any of my pieces edition run out, buyers have access to re-sell them on my own site. Please contact me for more details.

My name is Frank Turner, and I am from Ireland. I did Live in California too for some years. As the name suggests, I'm a distant descendant of William Turner. This is the first time I've divulged this information publically in connection with my art, as I like to stand alone, and on my own work. But recently I've decided to let people know, as I'm always being asked. I was about ten years old when my father told me of the link, but I had already been an avid artist from an early age. I had specialised mostly in pencil scetches as a boy, and won the Irish National schools art competition aged 8. My siblings are all also very artistic, and again all before we learned of our famous descendent, so as they say, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. At an early age I also had 2 sketches published in our National Newspaper "The Evening Herald." As the years passed, I changed my medium of expression to photography, and have been hoooked ever since. My love of landscapes and Nature (especially Trees) will explain most of my work, many of which were taken from atop my kayak, another passion of mine. I want to expand my pictures to a much broader audience, and knowing my work is on view in different parts of the world is an amazing feeling of accomplishment, and pride. I'd stopped selling my prints some time ago, until recently I was in a new outdoors store in Dublin, and was pleasantly surprised to find they had one of my old works on their wall. That was my inspiration to start selling again. With the utmost respect, I must admit I am anti "social website," and much as this has, I'm sure, hindered me in ways I could promote my work, I value my own principals above all else and would not be true to my own beliefs to start. So apologies I am not available on any of these sites. My website is currently under Construction but will be back up soon.
