I am a visual artist and photographer whose multidisciplinary practice explores identity, perception, memory, human connection, and the quiet beauty of the natural world. Through abstract portraiture, photography, painting, sketching, and digital drawing, I examine the emotional character of people, places, natural forms, and everyday objects.

Expressive line, form, light, shadow, texture, and color create a consistent visual language throughout my work. These elements allow me to move beyond literal representation and reveal deeper relationships between human experience, nature, and memory. I invite viewers to pause, look beyond the surface, and discover character, beauty, mystery, and emotion. Each work remains open to interpretation, encouraging a personal connection shaped by the viewer’s own memories and experiences.

I work with pencil, paper, canvas, paint, computers, professional cameras, and the iPhone, moving between traditional and digital processes according to the needs of each concept. This flexible approach allows photography, drawing, abstraction, and digital expression to coexist within a unified artistic practice.

My influences belong to three interconnected artistic lineages. The first is the dramatic use of light in portraiture. Rembrandt inspires my use of chiaroscuro to reveal emotion and psychological depth, while Joel Grimes informs my interest in polished, high-contrast portraiture, sharp detail, intense texture, and dramatic studio lighting.

The second lineage connects Cubism, Surrealism, and psychological figuration. Wifredo Lam’s mask-like figures and fusion of Cubism and Surrealism inform my exploration of identity and the subconscious. Salvador Dalí and the Surrealists inspire my use of dreamlike imagery and transformed human forms. George Condo informs my interest in psychologically expressive distortion, while Pablo Picasso influences my use of altered proportions, overlapping perspectives, and simplified representations of the body.

The third lineage centers on expressive line, symbolism, and graphic form. Joan Miró inspires my floating circles, playful geometry, and symbolic marks. Patrick Nagel informs my use of sharp black contours and selective vivid color, particularly red lips and green eyes. Jean Cocteau influences my continuous-line faces, elongated features, and poetic simplicity.

I am a Cuban American artist based in Maryland, who studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
