ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Limited Edition 1/20,size70*50cm.Comes Singed, numbered&with certification of authenticity..Printed on Fuji Crystal Archive paper. The Serial photographs called”Memories”,are works, based on old photographs, taken on film by my father and my s a journey back to my childhood, and places I visited in the past. The inspiration came on a winter day. While looking at those old photographs,I actually realized their importance and power,to take me back to the moment, and feelings of those days. I used the same technique at this serial as at the “Pop-Abstract”ones.The chocolate box.I place the old photographs at the bottom of the box,and make remakes of the reflection that appears at top of it.Its filled with a sort of alu foil that gives the distorting effect . The Impressionism was always inspiring me,but never believed that one day I ll be able to make similar works like they did, whitout using any photo manipulating programs. More works can be seen at:

Self-taught Abstract photographer.Born Pforzheim(Germany). Through many years on the road in nature, always on the search for the unusual motif, the moment that appears, disappears and never returns in this secret world. The "Cow Piss" serial of photographs was one of the major themes I was working on those days. Fascinated by finding "Heaven in Shit" and hypnotized by all the colors and forms, I got a sort of addiction to the abstract world. Nature is a great teacher. It taught me the value of the moment, and that everything around us is in a never ending constant change. But change happens not only outside of us, but also inside of us. Even though my love to nature was unbreakable, I still had a feeling of emptiness inside of me. Being only an observer, didn't give me the satisfaction I was looking for. I wanted to be physically part of my works, and the question "How can I make real photographs, without using any photo manipulating programs?" didn't give me peace. I never was interested in perfection, and the boundless possibilities of the digital world. Humans make mistakes...maybe God is perfect...but we aren't. I wanted this humanity being reflected in my works. A simple chocolate box, filled with some sort of aluminium foil, gave me the inspiration for the beginning of my journey. After seeing my hand reflected in this box, I started with making compositions of each daily object, and taking photographs of the reflections that appeared at the upper side of the box. The aluminium foil gives the distorting effect, but also the possibility to leave some details sharp. Just like life is: having the wish for security, but also the freedom to dive into the unexplored mystical ocean. The result of the past years of work are the Pop-Abstract and Memories serial of photographs.
