About The Artwork

Between 2012 - 2016 I have been photographing Japan extensively and my affection for the country grows with every single trip. In fact, I decided to move there in 2017 to spend as much time as possible capturing the magnificent landscape that can be encountered in the country of the rising sun. I arrived at the lakeside in the early hours of Christmas Day 2014. The temperature at that time was around -15C and the low level clouds were preventing me to get any view of Mount Fuji. I waited patiently though and after three or four hours, around 8 AM the sky cleared and the great mountain has shown its grandeur. By then my tripod, camera and moustache was covered in frost and I could not feel my toes. The autofocus on the lens has given up on my but my determination to get the shot was far too great to let this stop me. When the sun has poked through the clouds I released the shutter and with the help of a neutral density filter i captured a 240 second exposure. Soon after the clouds moved in again and Mount Fuji disappeared once more.

His early interests in music have seen him through to developing a successful audio-visual engineering career, while his musical ear grew accustomed to a more passive role of a listener. The technical ability on his to date path has proved an excellent foundational base once he stumbled upon his old forgotten affinity for still photography. Having delved deeply into his craft he accomplished a wide body of work and through the process of changing domains and applying stern analytical focus to his work he’s now looking at sharing and widening his wisdom by directing his efforts towards the community.
