Archival pigment print on Hahnemuhle cotton rag
number 13 out of an edition of 20
This image was made on a medium format film camera. The film was specially processed in a home made staining developer. The resulting negative was scanned at a very high resolution, and printed with carbon pigment inks onto the highest quality, heavy duty, cotton rag paper. Each print is embossed with my logo numbered according to its edition.
This image is of a young woman of the Mursi tribe in Ethiopia. As she gets older, she will insert larger objects into her lower lip, until the hole is large enough for a clay lip plug.
