His works influenced by the vernacular practice when he made family photographs at his younger. Mridul has interests in memory study, belonging, identity and mystic culture. He takes his inspiration from the people he meets his everyday life, animals, poetry, music and painting. In 2018, He was a fellow of Basar Confluence Artist Residency funded by Gumin Rego Kilaju, Basar, Arunachal Pradesh in India.
