New Years eve 2015/16 coincided with an Aurora Australis due to illuminate the southern skies from New Zealand. Banks Peninsula, which cradles Christchurch was illuminated with the last rays of light on the most perfect summer's evening. This is a 1 of 2 image with the 2nd being the 1st light of the New Year 2016 only 4 hours later
