Please allow about two weeks for the production of the print. _______________________________________ About the series "The Color Codes" In the series 'The Color Codes', the little beauties that surround us are presented as large-format fine art prints. The small and by the usual way of viewing perhaps unobserved should be shown large, space-filling and energetic. When we look at photos, we mostly do it in a way linked to the form of the object. We see the photo of a tulip and see - a tulip. Everyone has already seen a tulip and thus has his own personal experience of tulips, good or bad, either way, but always tied to the shape of the tulip. This applies to everything we look at - we connect the shape of what we see, with our own experiences and our own associations are awakened. Can this behavoir be avoided? Probably not, because looking at this or that tulip inevitably opens the 'My-Experiences-With-Tulips-Drawer'. Unfortunately, this also runs the risk that one may leave no room for new experiences with tulips. In this series the 'My experiences with xyz-drawer' should be kept closed as far as possible and thus space for new things in the familiar should be created. Detached from the 'shape-bound' and detached from personal associations with the object shown, the photos in this series are meant to be drawn on the as white canvas as possible and not pasted into a previously painted picture. This then provides a chance to let go for a moment, to let the mind rest, and then to send it on a spontaneous journey. The actual form is largely removed from the photographed object - through extreme macro magnification and distortion. The magnification factor is always at least 100 times, but sometimes over 1000 times. Thus something new becomes visible in the familiar, new forms and new nuances of colors.
