Not far from the heart of Ravenna, in the Emilia Romagna region, lies the Pialassa dei Piomboni. Various industries face a narrow strip of sea that, starting from the Adriatic, winds its way almost to the city's center. It is a place I love to visit when I wish to immerse myself in thought or when ...

Roberto Cavazzuti | RedRumStudio
I am an Italian contemporary fine art photographer working under the name RedRumStudio. My photographic practice explores the space between reality and perception, using photography not simply to document the world, but to transform it into an emotional and often ambiguous visual experience.
My work is driven by a fascination with time, memory, movement and the unstable nature of perception. I am particularly interested in what happens when an apparently familiar landscape or everyday situation is stripped of its descriptive certainty and becomes something suspended between presence and disappearance.
A significant part of my practice involves Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). I use movement not as a visual effect, but as a creative language capable of dissolving contours, altering spatial relationships and introducing a sense of rhythm and temporal instability. The resulting images occupy a territory between photography and abstraction, while remaining rooted in real places and moments.
My projects often begin with ordinary environments: the beaches of the Adriatic coast, urban landscapes, museums, architecture or encounters with people. Through the photographic process, these places become psychological spaces.
In Adriatic Zombies, winter beaches are transformed into ghostly landscapes populated by figures that seem to emerge from memory. Gente al Mare explores the fleeting relationship between people, light and the seaside landscape during the return of the summer season. Falsche Bewegung looks at the Riviera Romagnola through a deliberately dislocated visual language, evoking the atmosphere of the 1980s while questioning the conventional imagery associated with the Italian seaside.
With Rhythmic Ghosts, I move further toward abstraction, investigating movement, repetition and the perception of time. My newest project, LONDON 35, returns to London after more than three decades and reflects on the distance between the city remembered and the city encountered today. Photography becomes a way of confronting memory with contemporary reality.
Although my approach is experimental, I consider the photographic print itself an essential part of the work. My photographs are produced as limited editions using museum-quality Fine Art printing, including Hahnemühle papers. The physical artwork is conceived to exist beyond the screen, as a visual presence capable of influencing the atmosphere of a space.
