Pleasure (2019) Turning 30 feels like being born again — except for my back, that one is already buried. It feels like reaching the top of a mountain I started walking 15 years ago. It feels like cleaning the sweat of my face to look at the horizon — the harvest of time. It feels like looking at bigger mountains without the fear of the future, and feels like success is not at the top of these higher bodies but on every step I give towards their furthest soil. I learned that running doesn’t make the time go faster, and why do I want that when we crave for the moments to slow down? It’s time to focus on details, on the goods and the landscape around me, on the flora manifesting shapes of raw pleasure. This time I will somersault my way to the top. —— __________________________ About Limited Fine Art Prints: Limited edition of 4. A question about space and time was enough for Jon Jacobsen to create a universe of his own. Self-taught, his work contains graphic, narrative images utilizing symbolism and the surreal through a mix of photography, digital art, illustration and filmmaking. With two solo shows and several participations in exhibitions and Fashion Film Festivals, he has directed projects for London and New York Fashion Week, music campaigns and fashion editorials; and has been acknowledged by magazines around the world for his approach to the human body as a connector between the real and fantasy. He was part of the show “Contemporary Young Artists” at the Visual Arts Museum (MAVI) in Chile, and was chosen to debut his work at the first edition of PLAY at PULSE Contemporary in Miami, during Art Basel Week. Jacobsen was an artist-in-residence at SHOWstudio (UK) receiving mentorship from its founder and director Nick Knight, and sponsor support by the British Council.
