Part of Richard Heeps 'Ordinary Places' Series, it captures Britain on the brink of change. It was Richard's first colour series and it achieved much success with an exhibition at the Photographers Gallery in 1989 which then went on to tour Museums and Public Galleries around Britain. More recently 'Ordinary Places' formed part of Richard's 30 year Retrospective at The International Photography & Moving Image Art Fair in 2016.
Captured in Mr Davies traditional Cobblers on the day it was closing to widen the road, literally captured on the brink of change. The turquoise wall and sweet details create a beautiful picture.

This artwork is a limited edition of 25 gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium presented in a museum board window mount and a choice of black or white box frame. It is signed and numbered on reverse accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Although I was brought up in East Anglia, I was heavily influenced by America, I visited American bases, I kept magazine cuttings and I followed drag racing. The speed, lifestyle and technicolour is reflected in my imagery. Colour is a major aspect to my work, it drives my equipment and material choices. I have made many bodies of work, while there are distinctions between them they are all linked somehow. I have exhibited widely, in the early part of my career following an exhibition at the Photographers Gallery in 1989, many of my exhibitions toured Museums and Galleries around England. From 2007 presentation of my work has mostly been at Art Fairs in the UK and worldwide where it has been brought by many international collectors. My piece 'Thrills' was part of the 2018 250th Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
