So often I went out for some shooting and it turned out to be too late; the feeling of not being in the right place, not finding the right subject matter, not being able to move around fast enough, having driven to a place only to find myself thinking I should’ve gone somewhere else. And in the meantime, the sun about to set… and me chasing light. This has happened often enough so as for me to have found a name for this: me chasing sunsets. So at times I go out a little later than I should, and often think to myself that I hope I’m not gonna end up chasing sunsets again. But the need for sunlight is only a rooted idea I’m trying to get rid of. Indeed, while some light is actually necessary to take a photo, the quantity of it can be surprisingly little. So the other day I was out shooting to make some images for a product, and when the session reached its completion, I felt I wanted to take the chance to take some photos for myself; the sun had already started setting and I immediately thought - there I go again. It’s too late. Well, but then it really wasn’t. I was in an industrial area and the shapes and geometry you can find in similar areas can be just fascinating, especially when their random colors meet the sky’s deep blue of the afterglow. I saw the moon, as if it had been hovering over these tall metal structures. I had to capture it. So here it is.
