Renato Silva | The End Of The Line Limited edition Nr. 1 of 10 (+1AP) Signed and numbered by the author himself. Document confirming the authenticity and source. Printed on Hahnemühle fine art paper. All pictures are medium format analog 6x6. The end of the line is a personal interpretation of Berlin’s city edges. This photography project born in the Winter of 2012 aims to investigate and document the surroundings of the big metropolitan area of Germany’s capital, Berlin. Setting this as the main goal I then decided to ride until the last stations of the main subway network, the U and S lines. These would take me sometimes really far to towns such as Strausberg or Bernau, which are mostly unfamiliar to people that live within the central area. Once there, I would stay hours, days or even weeks having the difficult but rewarding job of registering what in my perspective was important to build such a body of work. The unpredictability is the big and main responsible for the next image that I’m going to create, turning left or right is sometimes a big and demanding question for a photographer who’s ambition is the old tradition of discovering and shooting the unknown. The photographic approach aims to combine the best of documentary photography with contemporary portraiture, and other visual elements collected over the course of this project. The highlights and key elements of this extensive effort are, offering alternative perspectives and reporting on these unnoted places. "The End Of The Line" Series. All images are available in the following sizes: 80x80cm (Edition of 5) - 700$ + shipping 50x50cm (Edition of 10) - 400$ + shipping

Hailing from Portugal, Renato is currently living and working in Berlin, Germany. Since an early age he showed passion for art and all things creative, using the art of drawing as his “vehicle” of expression. Transporting his surroundings onto a piece of paper was the strongest tool to get him to the point where he is now. With degrees in Arts, Communication and Design in Portugal and Art Direction in Berlin, it's in Photography where he finds his true passion. Freelance photographer since 2005, he has been working in some different photography areas: portrait, advertising, architecture, landscape and also in live performances, like theatre, music and contemporary dance. He’s a member of the Transient Museum of Art and the Berlin Fotografen. Exhibits regularly since 2003 and his work as been awarded by Epson or Sony between others. His latest project "The End Of The Line", a 4 year survey on Berlin's city edges, is now in its final stage and will soon be presented to the Public.
