South African landscape photography. Richard Heeps' work takes you on a journey, the road is a reoccurring theme, often the location is ambiguous allowing you to see your own road trip. The moody sky over over this open road in South Africa, part of a sequence of photographs, including 'Windscreen' and 'Tinted Window' taken as part of Richard's 2009 series 'The New Lantern'. This artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, it is presented in a museum board white window mount and a choice of black or white box frame. It is signed and numbered on reverse and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Although I was brought up in East Anglia, I was heavily influenced by America, I visited American bases, I kept magazine cuttings and I followed drag racing. The speed, lifestyle and technicolour is reflected in my imagery. Colour is a major aspect to my work, it drives my equipment and material choices. I have made many bodies of work, while there are distinctions between them they are all linked somehow. I have exhibited widely, in the early part of my career following an exhibition at the Photographers Gallery in 1989, many of my exhibitions toured Museums and Galleries around England. From 2007 presentation of my work has mostly been at Art Fairs in the UK and worldwide where it has been brought by many international collectors. My piece 'Thrills' was part of the 2018 250th Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
