About The Artwork

A shadow puppet artist in Thailand works in the traditional art of Nang Yai, or large shadow puppetry. The artist is seen here working on a puppet, which is made of painted buffalo skin. The puppets are then manipulated by the artist in front of a brightly lit background, creating shadows that tell stories from Thai mythology and folklore. Shadow puppetry is a centuries-old tradition in Thailand, and it is still performed today for both tourists and locals. Location: Phatthaloung, Thailand - Signed Certificate of Authenticity with Edition Number. - The gallery standard print comes rolled inside a hard tube. - Protected with bubble wrap and acid free paper and shipped inside a cardboard box.
