Breathe Life, Visualize Emotion David Valera is a professional artist (photographer/digital-cinematographer/cameraman) based in Los Angeles. "I grew up in Silver Lake, CA." Not the Forbes Magazine hippest, hipster neighborhood where music and trends are churned out by the minute, but the mid-city urban grit and grime it once was back in the 70's-80's." A latch-key kid, David would jump on his BMX and ride down Sunset Blvd., slaloming around Hollywood hair bands, street walkers, families and undesirables. "Urban life is a part of my upbringing and I always wanted to document those unique, chance moments I came across during my neighborhood expeditions." David's personal projects concentrate on "Street Photography", which he has exhibited in numerous art galleries across Los Angeles as well as many private collections. David has collaborated with The Living Image Project, an established non-profit organization for Alzheimer's therapy, as principle cinematographer. The first DVD release "Adventures In Paradise" is in collaboration with National Geographic photographer Flip Nicklin. David is represented by Getty Images, and is a contributing photographer in the Getty Collection and Creative Assignments group. David also works as a staff photographer for the Jubilee Music Festival and freelance photo news correspondent for AOL's "Patch". His photographs have been seen in several books, websites and magazines including National Geographic Books (Brain: The Complete Mind, Field Guide to the Water's Edge), Daily Variety, Animation Magazine, LAist, Los Angeles Times SoCal Moments, and Frommer's Travel Books. David's creativity doesn't stop there, with over 17 years of Academy winning and nominated film credits, he is currently an Artistic Supervisor/Head Cameraman at one of the major Hollywood Studios.
