About The Artwork

Triptych - Large canvas triptych shades of royal blue, indigo and turquoise. This set of 3 Wall Art Prints is perfect for a large living room wall or an office. On a windy morning before the sun rises on the Isle of Skye, the colours of the night linger gradually breaking up into turquoise and purple with indistinct hills and pools of aqua colored water. I use advanced photography techniques to create patterns and a sense of mystery to my images. CANVAS DETAILS This is the unframed canvas set of prints and will need to be stretched over wooden bars by a framer. SIDES OF THE CANVAS (Border) I have added 2 inches all round each image for the framer to stretch around the sides of the wooden frame. BORDER COLOUR : BLACK Each canvas panel is 40 inches wide and 60 inches tall. With 2 inches between the prints they will fill a 124 x 60 inches of space. If preferred, you can ask your framer to 'Float Frame' the prints - this is where the stretched canvas is set into a tray frame with a moulding of your choice. See the image with the white trimmed prints for an idea of how this would look. ABOUT MY MATERIALS I believe in giving my clients beautiful artwork on luxury papers and canvases that hold their colours for a lifetime! For these special prints of my work I use dreamy, light textured Canson Canvas. Canson have been making paper and canvas for artists for over 450 years. Canson materials were used by famous artists such as Degas, Van Gogh, Picasso, Miro and Matisse. The combination of my beautiful set of 9 colours of non-fade inks and the Canson canvas produces a canvas of rare beauty and longevity. Other Sizes I also print on beautiful fine art papers and in bespoke sizes. Just get in touch if you have special requests and I will be happy to help.

As a professional photographer I travel often to the islands of northern Scotland to make my images in places that provoke a profound emotional reaction. The colours, the textures, the wildness of the places and the history are all intertwined in a fascinating, and often bewildering melting pot of sensation that forces me to make art. After moving many times to get to where I should be, I now live on top of a cliff at the northern end of the Isle of Skye. Skye is a large and very beautiful island in the far north of Scotland; a place of inspiration, myth and legend. The beauty of the landscape draws artists and walkers, photographers and lovers of Nature like a magnet, and I am likewise smitten. Skye has a ruggedness and intense green hills that would make anyone pick up a camera or a paintbrush. My work has moved through variations on a theme of movement and colour. Whether the camera moves or I move or the landscape moves it is all the same. Colours, moving blending and soaking into one another create a sense of playfulness, the feeling you get when the wind is in your hair on a bright sunny day. More and more I wonder if there is any end to how one can capture the colours, the lines and the essence of a place. In my studio today, the bright green Hill of the Red Fox is shrouded in a light mist, the wind is howling and the clouds are moving quickly across the hills. It is a scene that makes my heart sing. I hope my work conveys some of the joy I feel when I see these colours, the harmony and the wind singing through it all. It is at least a quest that, hopefully, will last a lifetime.
