Edition of 10, signed. C-type colour print on crystal archive photopaper. Print of a original six month pinhole exposure of the suns climb from midwinter to midsummer 2016 at 60 degrees north. Using a pinhole camera the sun literally etches its progress onto the photographic paper. The other textures are a result of the photopaper left slightly exposed to the elements. Digital shapes added.

Sweden
The patterns and rhythms of time. Its cyclical repetitions are observed from ones particular position on the planet. Wherever or whoever you are, you are the pivot of that motion. Using the suns passage through the extreme shifts of the year, the actual heat of the sun or the visual translation of scientific experiments and observations that prove the Earth’s rotation. I construct my encaustic paintings by collecting pure beeswax, some natural pigments and wood ash from the Swedish forest to give a deep connection to the place and time I am lucky enough to call safe and home.
