This image is one of my very old favourites from back when I was still studying photography. It was back in 1997 and I was back in Norway on holiday and had gone to visit a small town further out on the coast. The drying of fish in this fashion is an old tradition on Norway so it's not an unusual thing to see, whether nailed to a wall like this or on purposefully built racks. I found this one very striking however, on the side of a bright red boathouse down by the shore - which lent itself to a very impactful composition. Quite simplistic - almost minimalist - and exaggerated by the use of negative space - this suited the square format of my old trusted Bronica SQai 6x6 format camera perfectly. It was analogy shot on 120 format negative film - my favourite Fuji NPS - and then later digitalised. As it happens a large percentage of the Portuguese national dish "Bacalhau" or "Bacalao" is made from Norwegian dried cod (Tørrfisk) and when visiting Portugal I love to go to one of the local eateries/cafes for a Bacalhau - usually part of the menu of the day. A print of this image used to live in my commercial portfolios for many years and was always always very well liked, especially by graphic designers - probably because of its very graphic impact look. I then kind of forgot all about the image when creating limited edition print collections, so the re-discovering and preparing of it as an artwork now has been quite exciting and I hope you will like it. A signed print from a limited edition of 25. Printed with a white border to accommodate framing/mounting and the signature - the actual size of the printed image is 96.6 x 96.6 cm. Should you have any questions about any of my artworks, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via my website ("globe" button under my profile photo). Also, if you would like to get updates about new artworks you can also click the “Follow” button on my profile. Beautifully Giclée printed on Hahnemuhle Pearl paper - a slightly textured 285 gsm. semi-gloss paper which holds more detail with punchier colours than a matt paper, whilst maintaining a illustrative/ painted feel. Technology: Epson UltraChrome HDR Wide Gamut Inks with archival life expectancy: 40 years daylight, 200 years in dark. All prints are professionally printed to ensure the absolute best quality and consistency. I pride myself in strict quality control, hence I only use top professional printers based here in London, that I am content use very strict colour consistency checks and use the very best of printing techniques available. This of course greatly increases production costs, but give me and my customers the peace of mind that I deliver a supreme quality artwork.

I am a freelance photographer based in London. I enjoy a big love for travelling, which not only takes me around the world – with many great new images as a result – it's also a continuing source of inspiration which influences and feeds my passion for photography. With a background that started with drawing and illustration, which in turn lead to graphic design I believe the foundation of the way I compose my captures is very much affected by this. I often look for very graphic compositions with strong lines, large areas of strong colour, negative space and pushing the boundaries of traditional rules of composition. There is also a different approach to the way I like capturing my images when it comes to more travel reportage images. Still looking to isolate my subject, either by using shallow focus, leading lines, concentrating of light, picking out splashes of colour, and other techniques. Most images are very much as a spectator, fly on the wall if you like - I generally don't like posed images. I feel I get a truer picture when I don't interfere, but also I'm not hiding in the distance with a tele-lens - I like to be close to my subjects in plain sight.
