From my series, "Los Otros Americanos" Tierra Linda (Pretty Land) is a small village near Lake Atitlan in the western highlands of Guatemala that is extremely poor. There are no paved roads or streets in the town and since the village sits at the end of the road there are no through roads. Most of the people live in adobe mud brick homes and live a subsistence life on meager incomes thru agriculture. Many of the children are malnourished in this area. Often times the children only receive tortillas for supper. With the help of some international donors the little village was able to begin building 2 new classrooms. The men of the village have been supplying the labor to build the new classrooms.

We're a husband & wife team that brings years of photo & video experience and an extremely rare skill set to every assignment. While Steve has worked as a photographer for most of his life, Trish spent many years as a designer and the creative director and owner of Creative Noggin prior to her work as a photographer and videographer. Combine these talents and you have an amazing team. Steve - While Steve has spent the majority of his life as a working photographer, perhaps the term Visual Storyteller better describes Steve and his work. An award winning editorial, travel and documentary photographer based in Texas, Steve specializes in still photography and video for editorial/travel and documentary clients as well as non profit organizations. He's traveled the globe for more than 25 years shooting assignments for clients that include National Geographic Magazine, NY Times, Nat Geo Adventure, ESPN, Smithsonian, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, Better Homes & Gardens, Boys Life, Wired, Backpacker, the Fort Worth Star Telegram Newspaper to corporate and advertising clients Leo Burnett, BBDO, Fleishman Hillard, The Richards Group, DDB Needham, Dell Computer, Compaq, Motorola, Wal Mart, NCR, Panasonic, Mayan Families and many, many others. His assignments have taken him to 49 U.S. states and throughout Canada, Mexico, Central & South America, Thailand, Spain, Germany, France, the UK, Japan and others. He's taught photography workshops in Hawaii, Maine, Texas and Guatemala. After 30 years of shooting commercial, documentary and editorial assignments, Steve determined that a more meaningful photographic pursuit would be to capture images for himself, or for the benefit of others. Many of the images showcased here represent his ongoing personal photo projects via his travels and assignments in Guatemala as well as his close relationship with the real working cowboys in West Texas. Trish - Having been a creative professional in advertising since 1990 and having owned her own Advertising and Marketing agency since 2000, brings a special and somewhat rare vision to her photography and video assignments. As technology changed throughout her career, so has her skill set. Starting out as a designer, she quickly adapted with industry trends. She's now a writer, photographer, videographer and content creator. And she's an FAA licensed drone operator as well.
