The Mexican Chicken Coop from the Dining Alone Series This series is a whimsical look at the different emotions and situations we experience when “Dining Alone.” Each photograph tells the story of a moment in time – many of them are based on my own personal experience while others are drawn from popular culture. The details and places are drawn from memory with a few exceptions. The actors are my frequent collaborators, Chopper, Oswald and Milhouse. Limited Edition Prints These fine art archival pigment prints are made from an original photograph by Alison O'Brien and are released in signed limited editions only. They are made using Epson Ultra Chrome K3 inks and Canson Platine Fibre Rag paper, a 100% acid-free, cotton rag paper. Canson Platine Fibre Rag paper has the aesthetic and feel of the original F-Type Baryta Fibre paper, without optical brightening agents to ensure consistency of shades for generations. Canson Platine Fibre Rag paper was developed to meet gallery and museum longevity requirements and to respect the ISO 9706 standard. These exceptional prints can be treasured and enjoyed for generations. Limited Editions sizes: 12 x 18 inches and 16 x 24 inches. Find out more about the artist and her work, at www.alisonoto.com

My work is the result of a life-long fascination with the connection that exists between humans and animals. Using familiar objects and surroundings to establish a context, I collaborate with dogs to create photographs that test and expand how others see the emotional intelligence of animals. Humor is frequently used to illustrate our similarities; the subtle eye movements, a sly grin or a furrowed brow. Also essential to my work is a respect and appreciation for animals. My photographs are the result of a relationship built on trust, patience, affection and positive reinforcement. Most of my ideas result from past experiences as well as direct observation of my dogs. With their intelligence, playfulness and sense of whimsy I can imagine them in a variety of situations. From these essential elements and a few special treats, our collaborative works evolve.
