About The Artwork
In an area of Texas that boasts the Devil's Backbone, the zip code 78666, and Purgatory Creek I wanted to capture what the area might feel like. Rather than have just a photograph of a place, I manipulated the colors to bring out the reds and gave it an oil painting texture to immortalize it into the imagination. I call this piece: "The Path Through Purgatory" or simply "The Red Path".

Born in Houston, Texas (1970); raised in Silsbee, Texas and graduated from Silsbee High School (1989); served in the US Army at B Co 2nd/87th Light Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York (early 1990's); lived in Watertown, New York; Muskegon and Monroe, Michigan; Bardstown, Kentucky; Beaumont, Lewisville, and (currently) San Marcos, Texas. Hobbies include writing poetry and scifi/fantasy fiction, philosophy, spirituality, photography, hiking, mountain biking, camping, travelling, renaissance faires, online mmorpg gaming, reading, music, electric bass guitar, and snow skiing. My photography favors landscapes, wildlife, and eclectic scenes. I am married and have 3 children, all of whom also love the arts and music.
