Álvaro de la Herrán is a Spanish visual artist and film director whose work explores the intersection between photography, cinema and generative image practices. Working across photographic series, video and hybrid visual processes, his images often blur the boundaries between observation and fiction. Through carefully constructed scenes and cinematic atmospheres, his work introduces subtle disruptions into everyday reality, inviting viewers to question what is familiar and what may lie just beneath the surface. De la Herrán’s recent work incorporates generative technologies as part of a broader visual language, using them not as spectacle but as a tool to extend photographic narrative and explore new forms of image-making. His work has been featured in Vogue Italia, Arte TV, and the Los Angeles Cinematheque, and exhibited at institutions including the Balenciaga Museum in Bilbao, the Museo del Traje in Madrid, and Palazzo Morando in Milan. Through his photographic practice, he continues to develop bodies of work that inhabit the fragile territory between documentary presence, cinematic construction and imagined realities.
