I enjoy contemplating the ordinary and otherwise overlooked. It's simultaneously a method of relaxation, and a way to imagine the potential for intrigue within the utterly banal. I'll stare at the ceiling, out windows, at clouds, lines on the horizon, at the corners where walls and ceilings meet, at shadows cast by one thing interfering with another. Looking long enough at the most basic of things eventually causes them to assume different forms, and crackle with unusual energy and excitement.
