Other sizes available. I studied with the greatest landscape photographer of all-time, Ansel Adams in 1958, as a 29 year old, just starting my career in the art, and all my photos were exposed to 8x10 inch negatives for the ultimate quality. He accepted 20 students for his 10 day mentorship, for a charge of - brace yourself - $100.00! This fir tree at the upper tree line, gasping for a little more life at this high elevation, faced the never-say-die Half Dome in a battle for survival. My guess is Half Dome will win, but its days are also numbered, geologically speaking. Anyways, I love the contrast. Subsequently I sent him six of my photos which, to my pleasure, he put into his permanent Ansel and Virginia Adams Collection at the Center for Creative Photography in the University of Arizona at Tucson AZ. I print my own work to preserve the utmost quality, and do so with archival inks on archival paper.

I wanted to become a photographer at the age of 12, when my sister Grace gave me a Kodak Box Brownie camera for Christmas. (I still have that camera.) Since our family was quite poor, I built my first enlarger with an oatmeal box, while that same box camera was used as its lens. After graduation from college, a stint in the army followed by photography school, I opened an advertising photography studio in 1954. For over four decades my staff and I earned numerous local, regional and national awards for our achievements in photography, including several "best of show" honors. In 1958 I studied with renowned landscape photographer Ansel Adams at his Yosemite National Park workshop in 1980, while still operating my advertising photography studio. My fine art work is shown here as my Yosemite National Park series, Grand Teton National Park series, Other Nice Things series, and Route 66 series (which encompasses 8 collections, one for each state.)
