A Bedouin Girl, Al-Okby Family, Unrecognized Bedouin Village Al-Arakib: following the transfer of the residents of Al-Arakib from their land at the beginning of the 1950's, tens of thousands of dunams of the village's land were confiscated by the State of Israel. Part of the land was recently leased to the JNF (Jewish National Fund) for reforestation, despite the fact that the village's claims of ownership over the land are still being discussed in court. The JNF plants thorny trees (seen at the background), to which even animals cannot get close, just to prevent the Bedouins residents from using the land.
