About The Artwork
At 13 I started my journey into photography through self portraits. 11 years later, and I'm still using myself as a means to express and explore. My most frequently used 'technique' is the natural manipulation of sunlight, through shadows, reflections, smoke. There is something very unpredictable about the way a shadow can alter the surface it is cast upon, almost entirely- and when the subject (in this case, my face) is so overly familiar to me, the prospects of another variable changing the game up is increasingly exciting.
