Vila Brasilândia Horse Photograph - Limited Edition of 100

In 2006 I took my photography course. I had to choose a theme and make a documentary about it. I chose to photograph Vila Brasilândia, a large favela on the north zone of São Paulo. Took me almost 2 months immersed in this universe, which was new to me but at the same time there was a certain familiarity because in my childhood, I lived in Jardim Peri, a poor neighborhood of São Paulo, Brazil. I really love this image because when exploring the place on foot, I managed to reach the end of Vila Brasilândia. A neiborhhod far away, the favela ended and the rural area began and to my delight there was a beautiful horse giving its graces there. On that way I managed to show these 2 universes, urban life and street life in a single image. I sincerely thank all the living beings in this place for the generosity they showed me, allowing me to photograph them and carry out my work.
