About The Artwork

As the sun began to quietly set on the waters of the city, Sachi, Little Alex and myself still found ourselves whizzing with enough zeal and zest jaunting about on our itchy fingers that we decided to expend it on a quick whistle-stop tour of a nearby antiques shop because, well, you should know it like the back of your hand by now that yours truly loves to loiter about and lounge in such places of ceaseless curiosities! Sorry ‘Gucci-Staphylococci’ and ‘Louis Button-Face’ but, truly, it is poppycock in my view to be spending all those zeroes on stodgy and spiritless new bling-bling when I could lash out a few pounds and claim a piece of magical his-story for myself…! Ah, you do not catch my drift? It is the trademark way of us eccentrics and polymath folk to see the world in other ways, try not to lose your sleep over it…!! Ahem, ahem, ahem!!! Alex darted about here and there as would be expected of an excitable 8 year old whilst Sachi and I perused through the goods. No different did they glow and make inviting reflections of the light, as we inspected them in our hands, than the excavated treasures of the 14th Century boy king Tutankhamen might have done when Howard Carter first made his momentous discovery! Dear reader, there is one particular artefact that did make me do more than just stop me in my tracks. Poetry, like a summer breeze filled with strawberries and cream, embraced my heart when I saw what I present to you tonight. On this Alexandra Rose Day, the flower of my British nation and, more significantly, the flower that means the world to me because of its loyalty to my soul in every life that I have lived, I submit to you, my esteemed reader, another remarkable blossom of proof that Destiny has taken to walking with me wherever I go. Please accept my short poem as though it were a red rose from me to you… My True Love bears the first letter of my name, ‘J’ for Juliet And I bear the first letter of his name, ‘Q’ for Quais Our reflections shimmer in two rivers, glitteringly wet He knows he cannot change winds, but can you guess? Yes, I see that already he has stepped into waters blue Fearlessly, he swims towards my Home to declare, “I Love You…” Photographs, Words & Poetry: © Masufa Khatun | Mazzy Khatun Photo Stories | Winter Reunion Series | 2015

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

An ardent visual storyteller, I am a self-taught photographer who continuously seeks to lens-pen and archive fleeting moments of life's eccentricities, to capture flashes of pictorial haikus encountered in my everyday walkabouts and to use the frame as a time capsule by which to illuminate the often neglected richness, splendour and depth of the story of the individual. My trusty partner in all my ventures is a Panasonic Lumix whom everyone in my circle has come to know as 'Lumiere'. Now you do too! Update 2014! Lumiere has a new buddy: a pretty Leica prime lens otherwise known as 'Laika'! The adventure just thickened! | Each Life is the greatest Story ever told... | PHOTOGRAPHS IN THIS PORTFOLIO AND ALL ACCOMPANYING TEXT AND POETRY: © Masufa Khatun | 2014 | 2013 How I Keep Myself Out Of Mischief: Teacher Visual Storyteller Poet Writer Traveller | When The Classroom Seats Are Extra Comfortable: BSc Psychology [Southampton University] Cert.
