About The Artwork

Venice on vacation. I was wandering down the streets and saw this great little arrangement of window boxes. One can imagine the owner growing some fresh herbs for their dinner meal. I can imagine the smell of rosemary, sage and basil fresh picked and simmering in the pot. Taken as digital photo and manipulated in Photoshop to enhance the shadows.

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. My wife and I moved to the Texas Hill Country seven years ago to enjoy our country life. Having a lot of space between us and our neighbors is an interesting way to live and provides me the seclusion to get away from distractions of the city. Peace of mind and fresh air do wonders for your creative juices to flow. I am a self taught artist working with watercolors and mixed media projects many years ago, which were mostly gifts for family and friends. Due to the school of life, I put art on hold but always knew that it would come around again. After a long period of artistic drought, in 2012 I started working on art projects again and found that my art was alive again. I have been working in several different mediums including Collage, Paper Weaving, Mixed Media, Pastels and Acrylics. Lately I have been working with digital collages using Photoshop. It is a unique way to work in the digital age. It is a green way to create art as well, as you are not using any paper, glue, etc. I find that my creativity can take new turns that it could not using conventional methods. I am riding the edge I guess. Later this year I hope to finish building my art studio and welding workshop. Then I will have the spaces I need to work on recycled metal art, digital and all of the other mediums that my muse helps me with.
