Photography: Black & White on Paper.
Peter van Stralen likes to describe himself as a two-dimensional sculptor who photographed the bodies of professional female dancers and describes this photo series as a kind of photographic choreography. His themes mainly revolve around subjects such as loneliness, alienation, absurdity and humor. The dancers pose for him as ‘interpreters’ as they bring their female attraction, beauty, youth and charm to these images without disclosing their own identity.
