What started with a book about Lesotho I found in a container back in 2012 was followed by a series of 32 collages. I got inspired by the inscription on the first page of this book, which said: 'Dear mother, to get used to your future country. Love, your daughter, May 1984'... I wondered what they were doing there, what they saw, how they felt. Did the girl move to Lesotho to work, travel, or married a guy of Lesotho? Without knowing these answers, I started to make my journey through this book, just like I do travelling through my collection of books to make my collages. The pictures in the book have been given a new life now: reconstructed images travelling throught time into a new dimension. With this project I made my final move: I have transfered these small collages into big silkscreen prints, making my imaginary journey on the printing table. Struggling with the transition I ended up with seven different silkscreenprints on a scale of 55,2" x 39,3" . Each print has a limited edition of 7 pieces, printed on Hahnemuhle 300 grams. https://youtu.be/e-hS4RcbG5w Making of the silkscreen prints.

I question myself about the personal book of information we've got in our heads. Are we capable of receiving new constructions, or are we always hooking it up to the 'thing' we know from real life and try to connect with that? We redefine by watching what's real or not and that takes time. I'm forcing the viewer to slow down and unpack the construction, to test its veracity. www.tincaveerman.com https://www.instagram.com/tincaveerman/ www.tincaveerman.tumblr.com
