About The Artwork
A dog barks at the moon. This nocturne is inspired by my own dog who ventures out every night to bark for anyone who will listen. This print is a multi-plate etching and aquatint and the richness of colour is very much a result of this process. The image is made on four copper plates, one printed over another and then another, the overprinting giving a much denser colour. It is hand-printed onto a heavyweight 300 gram handmade at St Cuthbert's Mill in Somerset, England

I was born in Staffordshire, UK and was based in London for twenty years, where I taught fine art at University level while maintaining a career as a professional artist before leaving the teaching profession and concentrating solely on making art. For the last 18 years he has been based in Cadiz Province on the Costa de la Luz in southern Spain, where I make most of my work.
