ABOUT THE ARTWORK

ALL OF YOU BOW! The image is taken from the historic interview with Muhammad Alì, immediately after the legendary match against George Foreman in Kinshasa, Zaire (The Rumble in The Jungle - 30 October 1974). Alì came from a rather difficult period, besides, Big George seemed unbeatable, so bookmakers and sports journalists considered him the loser, but they were very wrong, in fact he regained the title of maximum with a peremptory victory by knockout. In the interview Alì, visibly angry, addresses his detractors directly, urging them to kneel in front of him, the greatest heavyweight champion of all time. Screen printing. Monoprint (image size 48 x 67 cm) on ivory Murillo Fabriano cardboard 360 g / m2, 100% Cellulose (50 x 70 cm). Limited Edition: 3/12 Monoprints. The pictorial effect was obtained using a small screen printing squeegee like a palette knife to paint and pouring more colors on the frame; in particular the colors, in a chiaroscuro function, were used to emphasize the subject. Slightly misregistered prints, small smudges and uneven ink deposits are purely intentional. For the work 4 screen printing frames were used.
