Vasileia Sarri (b. 1982, Athens, Greece) is a contemporary visual artist whose practice explores memory, identity, and what it means to remain human in a rapidly changing world.
After a 15-year career in the financial sector, she turned to the visual arts in 2016, studying academic drawing and painting in Athens. Her artistic practice has since evolved into long-term conceptual projects that combine traditional techniques with contemporary approaches, including drawing, painting, monotype, mixed media, and selected digital processes.
Sarri's work examines how memories are preserved, transformed, or lost over time. Through layered surfaces, expressive mark-making, and material experimentation, she investigates personal and collective experiences, inviting viewers to reflect on identity, absence, resilience, and the fragile traces that define human existence.
Rather than treating technology as a replacement for artistic creation, Sarri considers it one of many tools available to the contemporary artist. Her practice remains rooted in human intention, physical process, and emotional experience.
Her work has been exhibited in group exhibitions in Greece and internationally since 2017 and is held in private collections. She lives and works in Athens, Greece.
