About The Artwork

LINOCUT PRINT OF AUSTRALIAN WATTLE BIRDS AND GUM NUT FLOWERS Working with the line, texture, and tone - there’s no better technique than a hand-carved linocut and woodcut, to create limited edition black and white prints. Printmaking is one of the most methodical ways of working, as it takes many hours to design and then hand carve the block prior to printing. The printing of the lino block is another art in itself, each print is unique and has a certain character. These are all printed by hand so there are always a few variations with the finished prints. My main influences include the Australian printmakers: Margret Preston, Barbara Hanrahan, and Jan Senbergs. Paper: Hahnemule warm white. 250 gsm rag paper. Oils based ink. Print size 30cm x40cm Paper size approx 45cm x 60 cm Limited edition of 20 hand-signed and numbered prints Unframed linocut print

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My work is about simplifying and interpreting various forms, most notably the natural environment. The painted works, with an emphasis on colour, pattern, and light, explore the concept of a fusion of representation and abstraction. I'm fascinated by the effects of colour on our emotions and internal states. Making art has a therapeutic component that is equally as important as viewing art. My primary influences for the linocuts include Australian printmakers Margret Preston and Barbara Hanrahan, as well as Japanese printmakers Un'ichi Hiratsuka and the Ssaku-Hanga woodblock print movement ("creative prints") from the twentieth century. My painting is inspired by Paul Klee, Marc Chagall, Arthur Boyd, and Mid-Century designers and illustrators. Among the artworks for sale are lino cut prints, woodcut prints, and Giclée fine art digital prints. All linocut prints are hand-printed without the use of a press. Each print in the edition is distinct and one-of-a-kind.
